Although born in Oklahoma, Justin Flanagan has had his roots planted firmly in Texas ever since he was six months old. Justin was brought up in the typical middle class family in Alief along with his mother and father, Patrick & Terri Flanagan, who instilled a powerful work ethic and a devotion to family in both Justin and his younger brother Michael. That devotion to family was even more strengthened by his paternal grandmother, Elaine Flanagan, with who both he and his brother spent their summers with in Somerville, TX. Their summer days were spent assisting at the marina, where Elaine worked, staying involved in numerous community events and being common boys of summer exploring trails, fishing and having countless adventures together.
The summer before his senior year in high school Justin Flanagan met his wife, Cyndie Balfour-Flanagan, and side by side they have formed a family with their two daughters, Kesley and Kyndall, and still maintain their commitment to hard work, supporting charitable causes, and developing a business that echoes their ideas. When questioned how the high school heartthrobs have been able to beat the statistics, Justin reflects that although marriage is not always a simple commitment, it is effortless to be committed to someone and your relationship when you figure out you have found your soul mate. “I knew I loved her within two weeks of our going together. It was a frightening thing to a 17 year old but once you know you’ve found it, you know it’s really worth holding on to.”.
Outside of Topmark Realty, the real estate business Justin Flanagan initially created with the help and mentorship of his mother-in-law Gayla Gayden, Justin is an avid supporter of the Katy Independent School District, Snowdrop Foundation (a pediatric cancer foundation), numerous Veteran causes, and charities that help children or strengthen communities. “I believe that contributing and giving back is a duty. My better half, family, and our business associates are incredibly grateful for what we have been blessed with and we are ecstatic to be able to give back. It’s part of our faith and core to our belief.”
What does the future hold for Justin? His wife left her position in the natural gas sector in January 2015 to join their talents and efforts to further improve Topmark Realty and to build a legacy that their children can inherit as well as delivering a solution that empowers the Topmark team members to build their own businesses within the business. “If I look forward 3, 5, 15 years or more, I catch a glimpse of my family, those who are helping to build Topmark, and those people who join us along the way, all making a difference by continuing to give an extraordinary level of service to our clients, contributing to charitable causes, and lending a hand to change lives of others. We wish to be able to give away homes to veterans, to further support teachers and educational support staff, help families, and to stimulate others to have faith in the future and recognize that they can make a difference in the world.” Based on that declaration and the convection he delivers it with, that future looks extremely bright.
If you didn’t already know, Justin Flanagan’s favorite car color is green. So if you see a car moving really fast and it’s the color green… it’s probably Justin!
