Although born within Oklahoma, Justin Flanagan has had his origins planted firmly in Texas since he was six months old. Justin was raised in the typical middle class family in Alief with his mother and father, Patrick & Terri Flanagan, who instilled a powerful work ethic and a dedication to family in both Justin and his younger brother Michael. That devotion to family was even more strengthened by his paternal grandmother, Elaine Flanagan, with who both he and his brother spent their summers with in Somerville, TX. Their summer working days were spent serving at the marina, where Elaine worked, participating in numerous community events and being common boys of summer discovering trails, fishing and having a number of adventures together.
The summer just before his senior year in high school Justin Flanagan met his wife, Cyndie Balfour-Flanagan, and together they have formed a family with their two daughters, Kesley and Kyndall, and constantly maintain their commitment to hard work, assisting charitable causes, and building up a team that echoes their ideas. When questioned how the high school heartthrobs have been able to beat the odds, Justin reflects that although marriage is not always a simple commitment, it is easy to be devoted to someone and your relationship when you realize you have discovered your soul mate. “I knew I loved her within two weeks of our going steady. It was a scary thing to a 17 year old but once you know you’ve found it, you know it’s definitely worth hanging on to.”.
Outside of Topmark Realty, the real estate firm Justin Flanagan initially established with the help and mentorship of his mother-in-law Gayla Gayden, Justin is an enthusiastic supporter of the Katy Independent School District, Snowdrop Foundation (a pediatric cancer foundation), several Veteran causes, and charities that help children or strengthen communities. “I believe that contributing and giving back is a duty. My better half, family, and our business associates are very grateful for what we have been blessed with and we are ecstatic to be able to give back. It’s part of our faith and core to our belief.”
What does the future contain for Justin? His better half left her position in the natural gas sector in January 2015 to unite their talents and efforts to further grow Topmark Realty and to build a legacy that their children can inherit as well as delivering a platform that empowers the Topmark team members to build their own legacies within the agency. “If I look forward 3, 5, 15 years or more, I catch a glimpse of my family, those people who are doing one’s part to build Topmark, and those who join us along the way, all making a difference by continuing to offer an unparalleled level of service to our clients, contributing to charitable causes, and assisting to change lives of other people. We desire to be able to give away homes to veterans, to additionally support teachers and educational support staff, help little ones, and to influence others to have faith in the future and know that they can help make a huge difference in the world.” Based on that declaration and the conviction he delivers it with, that future looks rather bright.
